IT Corporate Engineering at Brex
The Engineering team includes Data, IT, Security, and Software, and is responsible for building innovative products and infrastructure for both internal and external users. We have multiple autonomous and collaborative teams who are eager to learn, teach, and constantly improve how things work. Together, we strive to build robust and scalable systems that enable Brex to grow rapidly and help our customers reach their full potential.
What you’ll do
IT Corporate Engineering is responsible for maintaining core systems Brex teams use to authenticate, communicate and collaborate, and the devices Brex teams use to access these systems.
We develop SaaS first solutions to integrate and automate services developed by 3rd party vendors, the OSS community, and internal teams. We build tools to enable users to be self-sufficient, to improve visibility for troubleshooting and compliance, and to reduce toil for our IT Operations team.
We act as SMEs and Tier 3 support collaborating with teams across the business to help them achieve their objectives.
Where you’ll work
This role will be based in our New York City office. You must be willing to work in office at least 2 days per week on Wednesday and Thursday, starting the week of January 6th, 2025. Employees will be able to work remotely for up to 4 weeks per year, for a minimum of one week at a time.
Responsibilities
- Manage and scale IT infrastructure, services, and tooling
- Work with a diverse group of IT partners to optimize our provided services
- Implement new services in support of IT's vision
- Scale our services by implementing configuration as code via Terraform providers or API and/or building tooling
- Operationalize and upskill IT and its partners by producing documentation and leading training sessions
- Evangelize best practices both internally and externally facing
Requirements
- 2+ years of experience working with Okta and Identity Governance and Administration
- 2+ years experience with Github, Terraform, and configuration as code
- Familiarity with software engineering development cycles
- Experience working with at least one programming language (e.g. Python, Ruby, Golang)
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Must be willing to work in office 2 days per week on Wednesday and Thursday
Bonus points
- Intermediate to advanced knowledge of Python
- Strong technical writing skills
- Previous experience in an IT support role
- Experience managing macOS or Windows systems at scale
- Familiarity with Github Actions, Tines, and Linear
- Experience with Google Workspace administration
Compensation
The expected salary range for this role is $108,800 - $136,000 USD. However, the starting base pay will depend on a number of factors including the candidate’s location, skills, experience, market demands, and internal pay parity. Depending on the position offered, equity and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package.
